Under Armour and HTC built an entire fitness ecosystem
I've had a Fit Bit for about 2 months now and I love it. What I really like is that the app integrates with "lose it" the calorie counting application I'm using. This will also be great this summer because Lose it integrates with "Strava" which is my cycling application which tracks my miles and calories. Well. it looks like UnderArmor and HTC have got this figured out with their new ecosystem. This is the type of thinking that works great when it comes to technology. The focus is health and fitness from a total coverage perspective. There are many factors that effect your ability to impact your fitness beyond just steps or calories. This is cool.

Insite Acquires Storyworks1
I've had the pleasure of working with Storyworks1 for the past 2 years as they have grown. As our customer I really enjoyed our conversations because they definitely value technology as a strategic advantage in business. As they have been acquired by Insite they will no longer be using our services. Insite has their own internal IT. Of course we will stay in touch with them. As the organization evolves they may see a need to bring us back in. I'm really excited about these 2 companies. They are taking the evolution of data to the next level and enabling businesses to do more with tech. I can't wait to see what their product matures into.

This looks like a great value. I've got the earlier version of this machine and I love it! What is great is that it is durable, fast, and super flexible. The ultimate tool for the executive on the go!

Birthday Post
I've been trying my hand at this blog thing for several years now and I just realized that I've never written a Birthday Post. As I move along in life I'm starting to take more time to reflect on life and experiences. My wife is always amazed at how many different jobs I've done over the years. I could list them out but that would be boring. Lets just say I have not really been unemployed since I was 14. My hope is that I would have learned something from all of those experiences. I have. It's hard to distill it all down but here is my best attempt
1. BE YOURSELF - I think my biggest problem over the years with this suggestion is that I did not really know who I was. I was searching as many people do. I now have started to focus on the things I like about me versus the things I don't like. If I meet with someone and they don't like me, I try not to take it personal. It's probably about them anyway. Even so, when I relax and operate authentically I'm a pretty likable person. So this is one nice part of being 47. I like me and I think other people do too.
2. TELL THE TRUTH - Man this can be hard at times. Especially when it's bad news. In today's culture the truth is refreshing. Everyone is trying to spin things to make them sound better more dramatic then they need to be. Lets just stick with the truth.
3.STEP IN THE OTHER GUYS SHOES - This is hard too. Especially when the other guy is yelling at you. When I do this I tend to feel compassion versus anger and frustration. This is one I have to constantly work at. Having Kids has really helped me to do this.
4. FIND AND PURSUE YOUR PASSION- I think this is a multifaceted suggestion. I mean, my passion is not only work. I love cycling, drumming, working out, being out doors, skiing, my family, church activities and work. I go after all of these with passion. I've had jobs over the years that I was not passionate about. I've been ok with that for a while but eventually I moved toward my passion. When I started to focus on all of my passions and keep some balance each activity spurred on my passion for the other.
Well I hope that tells you a little bit more about me and what I've learned in 47 years on this planet.
